West Many road and sidewalk revisions have been made along Johnson Creek recently, modernizing the transit for locals and visitors

Over the winter and spring we saw many changes to some heavily traveled portions of Johnson Creek Boulevard, a major artery for traffic between southeast Portland and Milwaukie.
This extended roadway construction project was approved by Clackamas budget committees last year and employed many construction and installation companies in the undertaking.
The focus for the work was on paving and curb ramps, especially near Johnson Creek Fred Meyers and Bell Avenue.
Johnson Creek Blvd is a main road in the Milwaukie area with heavy volumes of vehicle traffic. The road was repaved between 79th Place and approximately 500 feet south of 45th Place.
Bell Avenue was also repaved between Johnson Creek Blvd. and Alberta Ave. The median lane was extended to Stanley Ave. to improve safety of left turn movements onto Stanley Ave.
Sidewalk curb ramps and pedestrian push buttons will be checked for compliance with Americans with Disability (ADA) standards and retrofitted or replaced, as needed.
West Lents Floodplain Restoration Project Transforms Southeast Portland

The Portland Oregon’s Environ-mental Services project designed to restore about 18 acres in the Johnson Creek floodplain is now underway, with the primary construction contractor, Tapani Inc. This West Lents Floodplain Restoration Project is reconnecting Johnson Creek to its historic floodplain. The end result will make many envoronmental improvements, including reducing flooding on private property, restoring habitat for fish and wildlife, and improving water quality in the creek.
The City of Portland asks residents to please be aware that construction work may occur in phases, meaning the work zone may experience periods of inactivity. Other services like replanting or ecological landscaping will be completed during the appropriate seasons.
